And that, precisely one day before the Fukushima anniversary. Investing billions again in nuclear power right now shows how short the political memory apparently is. Putting EU money into nuclear projects is a massive mistake. This money should go into expanding renewable energies.

I met Prime Minister Robert Fico in Paris today. We discussed the need for affordable energy prices for Europeans while maintaining secure supplies for Slovakia and the EU. Our energy independence is at stake. This will also be a central topic at our upcoming EUCO Summit.

Europe needs homegrown, low-carbon energy sources. Nuclear & renewables together have a key role to play. Nuclear energy is available around the clock, providing electricity all year. Europe has been a pioneer in nuclear technology. And can lead again → link.europa.eu/jwqwNv

This is terrible. This law has completely destroyed independent media and civil society in Georgia. Even though organizations are officially allowed to exist, those registered face constant bureaucratic harassment from the state, and no one even wants to rent them an office, so that they are not investigated as well...

Poverty has a woman's face: women remain concentrated in the least valued and lowest paid sectors. We must close the wage gap for the present and the future, but also protect today's older women. #EqualPay #PayGap #Women #GenderEquality

Now comes the ultimate test for the SPÖ and ÖVP! Are they on the side of motorists or on the side of the state, which also rakes in record tax revenues as fuel prices rise? Because one must know: The fuel price is largely made up of taxes (keywords: VAT, CO₂ tax, petroleum tax). The fact is: The more expensive the fuel, the more the state collects. The government could therefore act immediately and lower the fuel price – for example by abolishing the unnecessary CO₂ tax. So, what are the losers waiting for? Or do you want to count yourself among the crisis winners while the public suffers?

The EU is finally taking its migration policy back into its own hands. Last month, we voted to tighten the Union’s asylum policy. Today, the European Parliament has just voted in the Civil Liberties Committee its position on the return regulation, which will greatly facilitate the detention and expulsion of illegal migrants or asylum denials. Once again, the right‑wing coalition, of which our ECR group is the pivot, and which also includes the PPE, the Patriots, and the Sovereignists, has prevailed over the left. Together, we have achieved many advances: 👉 possibility of expulsion centers in third countries; 👉 detention of illegal migrants allowed for 24 months and longer if circumstances justify; 👉 prohibition of entry onto European soil without a time limit; 👉 possibility to search and seize the migrant’s belongings (identity documents, phone, etc.) without their consent in order to identify their country of origin; 👉 an appeal of an expulsion decision no longer suspends the organization of the expulsion. It’s not perfect, but these are significant progress that cut against the laxity that had prevailed until now. It was, once again, a request from our ally Giorgia Meloni, who fights in Rome and Brussels to protect our borders and our peoples. The text will soon be put to a vote in plenary before being negotiated with the Council. Congratulations to our negotiator Charlie Weimers, with whom we have worked from the beginning to achieve these victories. And thanks to François‑Xavier Bellamy who managed to convince his group to work again with the right. Thanks to ECR, thanks to the right‑wing coalition, we are finally forcing the EU to change direction. We will continue to fight to repair the damage caused by decades of submission to the left, to make France and Europe safer, more prosperous, and stronger. 📲 Share on X! 👉 Join Identité Libertés!

Hezbollah’s decision to attack Israel in support of Iran endangers the entire region. Israel has the right to self-defence in line with international law. At the same time, Israel’s heavy-handed response is causing mass displacement and is further destabilising a fragile situation.

Tax the rich – save the climate. The climate crisis costs – doing nothing costs even more. Without more climate protection, Austria's state debt could rise by up to 200 percentage points by 2070. With climate protection and fair taxation of the super‑rich, we can reduce debt instead of increasing it.
