Europol and Ecuador Join Forces Against Crime and Terrorism

The European Parliament approved a resolution that lets Europol work with Ecuador to fight serious crime and terrorism, and asks the President to share this decision with the Council, Commission, EU governments, and Ecuador.
European Parliament (2024‑2029) – P10_TA(2026)0072 – The Parliament has approved the EU‑Ecuador agreement (10965/2025) that will let Europol work with Ecuadorian authorities to fight serious crime and terrorism. The resolution (PE781.452) gives consent to the agreement (10969/2025) and tells the President to forward the Parliament’s position to the Council, the Commission, and the governments and parliaments of the EU member states and Ecuador. The decision follows the draft Council decision (10965/2025), the draft agreement (10969/2025), the recommendation of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (A10‑0028/2026), Rule 107(1) and (4), Rule 117(7), Article 16(2), Article 88, Article 218(6) and (7), and the Treaty references C10‑0219/2025 and 2025/0120(NLE).
