The European Parliament approved a plan to set up a loan for Ukraine and told the Council and Commission to act on it.
The European Parliament approved the draft Council decision to set up a loan for Ukraine (draft number 17113/2025, Council decision C10â0004/2026, reference 2025/0431(NLE)). On 21âŻJanuaryâŻ2026 it gave its consent under ArticleâŻ329(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and following RulesâŻ93,âŻ107 andâŻ170 of its own procedure. It also instructed its President to forward the decision to the Council and the Commission.
