Ukraine loan plan gets the green light

The European Parliament approved a plan to set up a loan for Ukraine and told the Council and Commission to act on it.
The European Parliament approved the draft Council decision to set up a loan for Ukraine (draft number 17113/2025, Council decision C10‑0004/2026, reference 2025/0431(NLE)). On 21 January 2026 it gave its consent under Article 329(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and following Rules 93, 107 and 170 of its own procedure. It also instructed its President to forward the decision to the Council and the Commission.
