Today the Irish presidency begins and I feel apprehension. Digital freedoms in Irish priorities sound great. The problem is who sits at the table. Ireland is a European base for Big Tech – even tax-wise. Therefore it is appropriate to ask: will Ireland protect citizens and rules, or the interests of companies that have been offered favorable support for years?
