The USA and Israel again showed that international law is just a paper tiger for them and that the main danger to peace in the Middle East is precisely these two states. It was Israel, which in recent years has committed genocide against Palestinians, attacked Lebanon and Syria, and it was the United States, which from the invasion and occupation of Iraq supported the civil war in Syria or starved and subsequently bombed Yemen. Representatives of European states since the election of Donald Trump speak of strategic neutrality. I believe that now is the highest time to show that it is not just empty words. EU member states, including the Czech Republic, should find the courage to clearly condemn the latest crimes of the USA and Israel. And above all, in no case should they participate in it. Which will probably be very difficult, because if Babiš’s government has anything in common with the Fiala government, it is absolute servility towards Israel. On the contrary, I call for an immediate imposition of an arms embargo on Israel, the cessation of the purchase of F‑35s from the USA, and a clear call to calm the situation and to a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
