In France, the chicken market exists, but French production fails to meet demand. Indeed, the sector suffers from over‑regulation and over‑transposition of standards. According to the National Interprofessional Association of Meat Poultry (ANVOL), which I met today at the Agriculture Fair, it takes between three and five years to successfully carry out a new farm project, compared to about two years in Germany. The files are long and complex, and the appeals filed by certain NGOs further lengthen the delays. Result: France does not produce enough and imports an increasing share of the chicken it consumes, mainly from other EU countries, but also from third countries such as Brazil. Commercial agreements under discussion, notably with Mercosur countries and Ukraine, feed the sector’s concerns about increased unfair competition. __📲 Share on X! 👉 Join Identité Libertés!
